Brief History

City & West End Solutions Ltd or CWE Solutions as we now like to be called was formed in 1999 when current MD Doug Gilbertson bought the business from parent company City & West End Reprographics, which had a 30-year standing in the Reprographic and CAD market sectors.

In 2001 we moved to our own purpose-built facilities on St James's Road in London, which include a specialist demonstration suite with equipment for the outputting of quality large format indoor and outdoor print as well as for demonstrating colour management services and scanning solutions. We also have dedicated warehouse facilities and in-house drivers to help ensure a smooth and efficient delivery service.

Continued investment, a dedicated sales force and highly qualified engineers has meant the company has grown significantly over the last two decades and has become a major player in the UK's large format inkjet market, particularly in the graphics and signage sectors. CWE Solutions are now the largest reseller of HP Designjet Latex printers in the UK, with over 80% of UK sales and installs, and have installed more HP Designjet Z6200 printers in Europe than any other reseller.

CWE Solutions support multiple RIP platforms including Onyx, EFI and now Shiraz. We are also the largest Onyx software reseller and support provider in the UK.

In 2010 we achieved HP Gold Preferred Partner Status. We also achieved ISO14001, FSC and PEFC Certification. (Please see 'CWES Go Green' for more information.)

The end of 2010 saw the launch of the HP Designjet L26500 Latex printer with the HP Designjet L28500 to follow toward the end of January 2011.

2010 has seen CWE Solutions continue to push forward; especially with the recent expansion into the Sheffield office. We have installed more L26500 printers in the UK than any other reseller, which helped us gain three more awards, including Top Sales of Designjet Products throughout the whole Europe, Middle East and Asia Region (EMEA), HP Reseller of the Year and Largest HP Consumables Resellers of the Year for the EMEA Region. Our future looks promising. We continue to be the leaders in new product sales and have sold the first HP Scitex LX800 3.2m wide Latex Printer and most recently the first HP Designjet L26500.
