HP Z6100 vs Z6200 – Why you should upgrade?

After the superb proven productivity and reliability of the HP Designjet Z6100 the question is raised as to how HP have managed to improve upon this and what are the true benefits of the new HP Designjet Z6200? Below is a list of these key improvements.

Improved productivity from faster print speeds

  • The new HP Designjet Z6200 is up to 20% faster without sacrificing any image quality getting those last minute prints out in time to meet the ever reducing deadlines demanded by your clients.

Increased Colour Gamut utilising Red Ink

  • By adding the Red ink to their Vivera Photo Ink colour set, HP have expanded their colour gamut in the Z6200 to achieve those difficult to achieve colours on the edge of the achievable colour space.

Reduced ink consumption based on colour combination makeup and pigment density

80% reduced aerosol effect preventing issues with dirty encoder strips and breakdown.

  • Aerosoling is the small particles of excess ink that is deposited into the air during the head firing phase under speed. These minute particles of ink then settle onto the mechanics of the printer and over time can dirty sensors, disguise encoder strips and effect the running of the printer. HP have enhanced the head firing to keep this excess to an absolute minimum by reducing by as much as 80% in the Z6200 by giving you optimum up time and enhanced reliability.

Improved media loading system with auto media recognition and new loading table mechanism

  • The all new loading table in the Designjet Z6200 allows media to be easily loaded into the print position without having to manhandle heavy rolls increasing who can use the printer without potential risk of injury.

Geared driven media feed system for improved length accuracy

  • The new media feed in the Z6200 is now motor driven rather than relying and sprung loading tensioning system which enhances the accurate feed of heavier rolls given more accurate and longer unattended print.

Reduced overheating of heads when firing high density ink levels

  • If you run backlit film on a Z6100 you would certainly have found a limit to the length of media you can run without the necessity for the printer to go through a cycle down/cycle up to prevent overheating. HP have improved how the head fires eliminating the overheating thus allowing long unattended print on all media types with the HP Designjet Z6200.

Improved image quality with new firmware optimising

  • HP continues to strive to achieve the optimal print quality and have managed to improve this with the new optimised firmware improving how the HP Z6200 printer operates.

Bidirectional communication enhancements.

  • Information and feedback is vital to remote control and efficient usage of any device. HP has improved the information reporting and visibility across the network making the control and feedback from the HP designjet Z6200 printer ideal for busy production environments.

HP Designjet L26500 installed at Your Print Solution in High Wycombe

Your Print Solution

Your Print Solution in High Wycombe has recently given their system a complete overhaul in a bid to provide a more efficient large format printing service. After extensive consultation from CWE Solutions, the team at Your Print Solution found the answer to their requirements in the HP Designjet L26500 along with the GMG Production Suite and GBC Arctic Titan 1064 Laminator.

Steven Brown, director of Your Print Solution, contacted Graham De Kock at CWE Solutions about their printing requirements after receiving a recommendation. CWE Solutions are an award winning reseller of large format printing equipment. As an esteemed HP UK Partner, they were keen to assist Steven and his team in obtaining the best equipment for their business.

Your Print Solution offer a wide range of large format printing services, including pull up banners and backlit graphics; and with high profile clients such as restaurant chain Wimpy, they are constantly searching for ways to provide a more effectual service. After carefully considering the needs of the business, CWE Solutions suggested the HP Designjet L26500.

“We asked a lot of quite general questions, and we consistently received very detailed answers,” said Steven “they were very helpful.”

The HP Designjet L26500 offers increased efficiency and versatility, and allows users to print onto a wide variety of materials including paper, fabric and vinyl. CWE Solutions suggested that not only would this printer provide added flexibility, but would save Your Print Solutions valuable time. The HP Latex Ink technology means that every print leaves the printer completely dry, and in an industry where clients value speed just as much as quality, this feature is critical.

In addition to the HP Designjet L26500, Your Print Solution purchased the GMG Production Suite, a complete software solution for wide format printing. CWE Solutions are the sole UK reseller of the GMG Production Suite and they recommended the software primarily for the GMG Rip Software which allows colour matching between projects.

Your Print Solution will use the HP L26500 to produce large format projects such as the backlit graphics for Wimpy UK. However, smaller materials such as the menus are produced using a HP Digital Indigo Press. The GMG Rip Software will maintain consistency between the prints, thanks to its practical tools and colour rendering abilities.

Your Print Solution also purchased the GBC Arctic Titan 1064 Laminator which handles pressure-sensitive film up to 61″ wide. The GBC Arctic Titan 1064 Laminator also offers a cold lamination setting which is ideal for materials such as PVC, which are incompatible with the traditional hot lamination process.

CWE Solutions also supported Your Print Solution in implementing their new system.

“We have received constant support,” said Steven, “ I couldn’t fault the service, CWE Solutions provided us with a full solution to our large format printing requirements. The whole process is so much easier now, and our turnaround times have been slashed dramatically.”

CWE Solutions today announced that it will showcase a range of large-format printers for the first time in Scotland at an open house on 20th and 21st June at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (register online at www.cwesolutions.co.uk/scottishopen).

An exclusive cashback promotion of up to £3,000 will be available to those customers purchasing an HP printer from the extensive product line-up at the show. As well as the HP Scitex FB500 and LX850 Industrial Printers, these will include the two latest HP Latex solutions, the HP Designjet L26500 and L28500 Printers; and the HP Designjet Z6200 Photo Printer.

“Visitors will get to see the latest large-format printers first-hand and one of the open house highlights will be a textile printing demonstration using Latex technology,” said Anne Sharp, HP category and marketing manager, UK and Ireland. “In addition, the cashback promotion will be a nice treat to customers coming to the show and purchasing on the day. The offer will also be redeemable against certain other large-format printers in our portfolio up to 31st July.”

The new HP Designjet Latex printers are capable of handling a broader range of indoor and outdoor signage applications with better durability than eco-solvent inks. The Latex Inks provide an odourless and a consistent and reliable performance across a variety of substrates, including textiles.

Experts from CWE Solutions, an HP Gold Preferred Partner and a UK reseller for HP Designjet and Scitex Industrial Printers, will be at the event to demonstrate the large-format technology and to answer questions from visitors. Presentations on both days will discuss how print service providers (PSPs) can make use of the sign and display solutions to increase their business opportunities.

” The CWE Solutions Scottish open days will be the perfect opportunity for printing and signage companies based in Scotland and northern England to see the latest innovations in large format printing equipment,” said Peter Winter, marketing manager at CWE Solutions. “They will also get to see examples of signage, banners and POS displays, printed on all kinds of substrates that demonstrate the amazing applications achievable with the large-format printers.”
