HP Z6200 launch success for CWE Solutions

The Colour Wide Experience

To mark the launch of the HP Designjet Z6200 CWE Solutions launched their own series of large format road show events known as The Colour Wide Experience. The first event was held this week in Perth, Scotland and attendance numbers and positive feedback far exceeded expectations.

As well as showing off the capabilities of the Z6200, comparative runs were made on the older Z6100 printer to further highlight the improvements. To cater for the wide range of fine art and photographic interest, demonstrations were also running on the new HP and Epson printers such as the Designjet Z3200 and the Stylus Pro 4900, 4880 and 9900. The HP LX25500 latex printer was also running, demonstrating the environmental aspect of the Designjet series.

Presentations by HP Media specialist Tori Walton highlighted the numerous applications open to the customer and how to get the best out of the products. Whitewall gallery style stands showcased photographic print quality of the printers and other media types such as improved lightbox media, vehicle wraps, textiles and wallpaper.

CWE Solutions Managing Director, Doug Gilbertson says, “The Colour Wide Experience is fully committed to supporting the new HP Designjet range and we have received some great feedback from the attendees. We aim to bring a valued service to our clients and part of this is being more accessible to our them.”

The second Colour Wide Experience event will be held at RJDA premises in Derby on 30th November and will also include the Scitex FB950, the larger Latex printer and a live vehicle wrapping demonstration of a BMW X6. Attendance to The Colour Wide Experience is free.

Halloween shoppers get an eyeful of large format print

Halloween graphics

We all complain that retailers seem to bring in Christmas earlier and earlier each year, yet Halloween still plays a massive part of the retail seasonal calendar. This Halloween, retail graphic specialists Bezier supplied supermarket giants ASDA with floor graphics for their stores nationwide, with a helping hand from the Seiko II H74S Colourpainter large format printer from DCP Solutions.

The Seiko II H74S satisfies many of the challenges faced by suppliers to the retail industry – quick-turnaround, high volume, high quality and media type flexibility for indoor and outdoor applications. The latest addition of the Seiko II H74S Colourpainter was recommended by DCP Solutions as a result of their requirements and to complement the current range of printer products they already have.

The Colourpainter H74S is extremely versatile and provides additional business opportunities with the media type it can print on. Printing bright colour, high quality graphics on durable substrates make it ideal for floor graphics where there is a high footfall is all in a day’s work for the Seiko.

The 8-ink Seiko II H74S Colourpainter runs up to speeds of 100 sm/ph in 4-colour mode and colour gamut includes light grey and grey for true monochrome, real graduations, light shadows and metallic tones. The new high speed high-frequency multi-drop print heads control the amount of ink needed for each print mode enabling print at true 720 dpi, without decreasing print density or print speed.

First HP Designjet Z6200 goes into Newcastle-based printers, The Rip

The HP Designjet Z6200

Although beta-test and demonstrations models have been in circulation for the last couple of weeks, large format digital printer company, The Rip, placed the first UK order for the brand new Designjet Z6200 printer recently. Delivery and installation of the new 60″ model takes place this month.

Word of mouth is still possibly one of the best forms of marketing, especially with a product that had only just been launched. A testament to the relationship The Rip and supplier CWE Solutions have is their ability to communicate effectively and The Rip are due to reap the benefits of this early news.

John Laidler, Managing Director of The Rip explains, “We were looking to replace some of our ageing printers and were already impressed with the quality, performance and durability of the HP Designjet range. Recommendations from our supplier on the Z6200 mean that we get the best we possibly can right from the outset.”

In production the new Z6200 will enable higher production at better quality, with lower ink consumption. The Z6200 claims not just to be an upgrade to the Z6100; new elements include higher production speeds, wider colour gamut and improved print quality, particularly on backlit film. New technologies include new print heads, new inks and updated third generation Omas media sensor; a powerful combination producing a throughput of up to 140sqm per hour and saleable output three and a half times faster than rival machines of comparable quality.
